Glass thermometers are widely used in many fields, and the accuracy of their measurements is of great importance. Calibration is a crucial step to ensure accurate measurements.
The calibration principle is based on the thermodynamic temperature scale. A standard thermometer with a known temperature and the glass thermometer to be calibrated are simultaneously placed in a stable temperature environment, and the difference in their readings is compared. The calibration steps are as follows: First, prepare a standard thermometer, the glass thermometer to be calibrated, and calibration equipment such as a constant temperature bath. Place the standard thermometer and the glass thermometer to be calibrated into the constant temperature bath at the same time, set the temperature of the constant temperature bath to a certain calibration point, and after the temperature is stable, record the readings of the standard thermometer and the glass thermometer to be calibrated. Calculate the difference between the two, and this difference is the correction value for this calibration point. Calibrate multiple calibration points in the same way.
During the calibration process, it is necessary to ensure that the temperature of the constant temperature bath is uniform and stable, the insertion depth of the thermometers is the same, and parallax should be avoided when reading. After the calibration is completed, a calibration certificate is prepared based on the correction values for subsequent correction during measurements.
