Newly purchased equipment is often accompanied by the original calibration report provided by the manufacturer. However, whether these reports strictly comply with the specifications of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and whether it is necessary to entrust third-party calibration institutions to review and recalibrate, has become a common concern for many enterprises. In response to this question, Xiaobian specially consulted our company's senior engineers in detail. The engineer gave a clear answer: In order to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the instrument and equipment, it is still necessary to entrust a qualified third-party institution to recalibrate it and issue the corresponding calibration report.

The specific reasons are as follows: 1, general equipment manufacturers do not have CNAS qualifications and calibration capabilities, the calibration report issued does not comply with ISO/IEC 17025. According to CNAS regulations, third-party calibration institutions need to be reviewed by CNAS and meet the general requirements of ISO/ IEC17025:2017 testing and calibration laboratory capabilities in order to prove that their laboratories have operational capabilities and the calibration results issued meet the requirements. 2, the calibration report issued by the original factory generally belongs to the manufacturer's internal school, is an indispensable part of the manufacturer's internal quality control, can only be internal and not external, that is, this is the CNAS official recognition of the calibration results, can not be used as an effective calibration report; However, if the manufacturer's laboratory has passed the CNAS review, indicating that it has the qualification to conduct external calibration and issue a calibration report, then the calibration report issued internally meets the requirements of CNAS, and CNAS is recognized. 3, even if the manufacturer has CNAS qualification, and calibrated its factory equipment and issued a calibration report, but when the instrument and equipment are shipped to the user's factory, it does not mean that the calibration results contained in the calibration report are accurate. Because the instrument and equipment in the transportation process through the handling, installation, debugging and many other links, any link may lead to the measurement of the previous data inaccurate, so even if the original manufacturer issued a calibration report, but also need to find a third-party calibration body to re-calibrate and issue a calibration report.
